Is debate about absolute truth a useless task? Of course absolute truth exists. It is simply impossible to define by human intelligence. This is not to say that human intelligence is weak! Quite the opposite. This conjecture that absolute truth exists is one of the greatest accomplishments of the philosophic method. Since absolute goodness cannot be defined by human intelligence, what purpose is served by the certain knowledge that it exists. To end all debate on the subject? Certainly not.
What is the philosophic method exactly? Is the scientific method better or worse than philosophic? Another ridiculous human fault. Either-or thinking, an obsession by many humans, has been a major cause of the failure of human intelligence to develop beyond conventional prejudice. Supposedly intelligent humans now see innocent acts as paranoid delusions. Paranoid delusions arise from the after effects of brain damage, due mainly to substance abuse: 40,000 years for alcohol abuse alone.
Part of the either-or delusion is the constant question of the existence of an omnipotent creator god. Fundamentalist christian delusions often demand a dogmatic biblical belief. Militant atheistic beliefs usually demand an end to that debate by some reference to a flying spaghetti monster, or some absurd fairy tale. Sadly, the certainty of a god or gods existence is also true by the philosophic method, and the same limitation prevails: Human intelligence cannot define any such god. It never will do so.
So what is the consequence of this dilemma? Can any absolute truth ever be defined. Of course. Can a god or gods ever be defined? Perhaps not. Then what is the purpose of our debate? Sorry, if you are expecting me to answer my own questions, you will need to redefine your rating of my human intelligence. I am no Einstein. Einstein was patient. I am not. Einstein and Bose waited seventy years before their philosophic BEC became a scientific BEC. Bose-Einstein Condensates absolutely do exist.
How can something which cannot be defined actually exist? To ask that question is to set the human intelligence barrier in concrete. Nothing can be defined with absolute precision. Yet we are certain that reality exists as something. Why is this? Because we cannot prove that we exist, does our existence have any less value? Certainly not. Do absolute truth and the real god or gods have an obligation to prove themselves to exist? Certainly not. Yet we demand of them what we cannot do.
Prove that our own existence is certain. Nothing is certain. If the tiniest truth were certain, we would all die of boredom. There is no certainty, now or ever. To demand certainty is to deny reality. To continue to live with uncertainty is the only way. Absolute truth cannot be defined, but it can be proven to exist. Does proof of existence require certainty, or scientific experiment? Perhaps it does within the laws of physics. The laws of the philosophic method are quite different than anything humans can imagine.
