this for personal profit or due to our own shortsightedness the result is the same. Now, some of us are losing everything while the others of us stand by bitterly pointing our finger and shaking our head. No one wishes to take ownership of the great illusion that was spread across our land, so blaming its victims seems by many to be the best strategy.
Before we curse some of us for their pain and suffering let the rest of us remember how it came to be. Whether our participation was one of greed, ignorance, or simply silence, many of us took part in this. Now some of us wish to distance ourselves from the result by blaming it all on the rest of us. We are all connected in more ways than we know. When the boat springs a leak everyone bails, whether it is their responsibility or not. If we sink, we all sink together, unless some of us can throw the rest of us overboard to lighten our load. However, we may then find the boat will still leak, and will eventually sink because there are insufficient hands to bail the water.
The "stimulus package" may not solve all of our financial problems but it may be the necessary first step in finding the correct answer. It may show us what does work, what does not, and most important, it may keep us all alive economically while we find the proper solution for us all. When those of us who are relatively secure blame the economic chaos on those of us who are not, we simply perpetuate the same self absorbed philosophy that gave birth to our current situation. Let us be grateful that some of us have the means to ensure the economic survival of the rest of us, and do so generously for the benefit of all of us.
