Someday when we remember
The way things used to be
and all our cherished freedoms
are just a memory;
and we have no jobs or bank accounts
and there's no prosperity,
maybe then we'll remember that voting
Should have been done intelligently.
It's not about a pretty face
or who speaks more eloquently,
it's about the Constitution
and our precious Democracy.
We knew all about our candidates
their ideals and their policy
but some were caught up in the moment,
And forgot their responsibility.
We are learning a difficult lesson
through pain and adversity,
But I hope we will all remember
True freedom is not free!
