WILL THERE BE ANY CAMELS IN HEAVEN?
Quite possibly!
"How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Luke 18:24-25
"Now, the important question is, WILL THERE BE ANY RICH MEN IN HEAVEN?"
The answer is an irrevocable, NO!
Riches, as the world defines them, are not compatible with the kingdom of God or kingdom of heaven. The riches eagerly sought after by mankind; gold, silver, precious metals and jewels are all corruptible and their value fades away. All too soon, our treasure's will become worthless since they collect, rust, mildew and over time become tarnished and rot away.
The value we place on worldly riches is all relative to their desirability, usefulness and intrinsic worth to the society or culture we live in. As well, our age, position or circumstances can and will drastically alter our perception of what is of value or worth. It is sad, but many people will never come to realize the wealth available to them in close friendships, a supportive family atmosphere and within a loving and caring Christian community. Nor will they ever start to accumulate the riches of heaven that Christ was talking about.
THE GREAT SELL OFF?
RED ALERT! The acquisition of riches is not sinful. In fact, Christ clearly told His listeners to store up in heaven riches that are eternal and incorruptible. I tell you that it is not easy to open a bank account in heaven! There's only one form of currency and deposits are only accepted by FAITH working itself out through the act[ions] of LOVE!
"If you are a follower of Christ Jesus, all that matters is your faith that makes you love others. " Galatians 5:6 CEV
So how do we accumulate heavenly riches?
"Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it." Luke 12:33-34
Whether you are a Christian or not, the following statement is crucial to your understanding of how God views the acquisition of riches.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. " Matthew 6:19-21
