Contentment

I dreamed we sat upon a hill,
Side by side just him and me.
I thought then it was surely meant
This is how our lives should be.
My being was filled with wonder
And a love so calm and sweet.
My spirit felt contented joy
That I never thought to meet.
Time has passed since that lovely dream
Yet it remains with me still
As does this question of my heart,
Who sat with me on that hill?
