Mallorca, Spain is one of the beautiful Balearic archipelago islands located in the Mediterranean Sea. The island of Mallorca is the largest island of Spain, and is the most visited tourist destination in the Mediterranean. Mallorca Spain, a popular travel destination, stirs up images of cosmopolitan nightlife and visions of sun, beach and sand nestled in paradise. While these are all true to Mallorca, Mallorca is also an island of additional hidden gems.
There are many things to do on the island to pass the sun drenched days away. Mallorca is a paradise for sun and water-sport aficionados. Sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and even banana rides are part of the excitement along these beautiful stretches of beach and half-moon coves. Explore the rocky coastline with any of the water excursions. Glass bottom boat rides are popular excursions, which include free time to swim and snorkel through the crystalline waters. Mallorca, Spain is also a perfect destination for adventure seekers, nature lovers, and historians.
Perhaps much of what we envision about Mallorca surrounds the nightlife and beaches of the east, but there are many hidden gems dotted along the coasts and inland of Mallorca. The north-west parts of the island are places to see majestic mountains and quaint villages, and the inland plains house scented olive and almond groves along quaint postcard villages.
Venturing outside of the lively beaches and tourist areas is a well worth journey while traveling in Mallorca. Be sure to explore the charming villages and cultural landmarks like ancient monasteries, castles and architecture. Good travel connections and pricing mean visitors can easily travel around the island and explore the beauty of the area outside of the resorts. Alternatively, explore the island by hiking through the mountains and honey-hued villages, or cycle your way through fresh citrus orchards. Discover ancient ruins and a history rich with culture.
