How to save money on you're wedding cake Here is a great ways to save on you're wedding cake. Having a pretty cake without the huge price sure helps you out. You could put the money you save on other things you need to make you're wedding the best day of your life.

You can make your own cake. Depends on how many people are coming you can make a really nice three layer cake with some fancy trimming. What you need to make your cake or get someone you trust to make it for you. You need to make a three layer wedding cake.

1. Three different sizes of either round or square cake pans. Small, Med, Large Pans

2. Three different size cardboard cake holders the same size of each cake . You can also buy these cake holders at a bakery. Or if you can get some hard cardboard and put some foil wrap or color wrap.

3. Cake mixes of you choice - Pound cake is a wonderful cake to make

4. Icing - You can make or buy white so you can mix colors in it. Or purchase icing with the color already in it.

5. Some pretty wine glasses or Champaign glasses

6. Some fancy ribbon with the them of you're wedding

Once you have all the items you need. You can start by baking your cakes in the three different size pans. Once they are cooled put them each on their own cake holders. Then put icing on the two larger ones with white icing or whatever color you want to make them. Trim the cake the way you want. Then the smallest cake icing trim it with the color of your theme. In the middle of the smallest put your cake topper of the bride and groom and whatever else you want. You can buy some already made flowers or bells for your cake too. The smallest cake will be the one that you cut for your cake cutting ceremony.

You can wrap them up and put them in the freezer until your ready to put the cake together just before the wedding. Then once all the cakes are done take the largest cake and put either three or four glasses upside down on your cake. (You can put icing on the covered cake holders so you won't see the foil.) Once you have the glasses on put the next size smaller with the cake holder on the glasses, Then once that cake is on put three or two glasses on that then add the smallest cake. Then once you have them all together and if some of the icing moves etc... just take a warm knife and smooth it out with either more icing or just glide the knife along the icing that is a mess and smooth it out. Hope you have a wonderful day
