All about vampires and vampirism

Vampires have always been fascinating creatures to humans. It seems that vampires can tap into our most basic fears. When I was a child, the only creator that I was afraid of was a vampire. I still remember the creeps that I used to get when I listened to the stories of vampires!

One of the most recognizable traits of the vampire is that it likes to drink blood. It is strongly believed that not only do these creatures roam at night, but they drink blood! Oops! What a taste! It is hard not to imagine anyone not fearing these beasts.

One of our most innate phobias of the dark is because the vampires come out only at night. The reason behind this nocturnal habit could be that the vampires are injured or weakened, in most folklore, by UV radiation from the sun.

A very comic aspect of the traditional knowledge is that a vampire is afraid of garlic. No one really knows where this arose from, but it does exist in multiple cultures and traditions. Also, some vampires are repelled by crosses while others are immune. This may be correlated with the vampire's religious beliefs themselves.

There have also been rumors that vampires cannot cross running water and that they cannot enter someone's house unless invited. Though it may not be true, this information at least gives us some hope and courage of protection against these creatures.

In fact, if you ever actually encounter a vampire in real life, first make sure that it is an actual vampire before you drive a stake in it. There is a disease which causes sensitivity to the sun, bleeding gums, and very pale skin, which you can easily mistake for a vampire. A word of advice, most stories involving vampires are usually violent. If he/she isn't trying to bite your neck or suck your blood, odds are he/she isn't a vampire.

But if you come across an actual vampire, fangs and all, then you should hope for a painless death unless you are equipped to fight with it. There are many different sources of information, but vampires usually have the following characteristics: superhuman speed, superhuman strength, and much more endurance and health than normal humans. If you aren't properly trained, you can easily get overpowered. Weapons also count.

The way to kill a vampire is also fairly common knowledge. One such claim is that if you attack at center of the heart of a vampire and it will die. This should be your first thought when encountering the vampire. Or maybe vampires don't even exist and we have nothing to worry about.
