Idris is one of the messengers and prophets sent by Allah to the human kinds to teach them the truth . He is one of the 25 prophets which is compulsory to be known by the Muslims. Idris is the son of Adam which is given the title Prophet after Adam himself and Shiyth a.s. (Set according to the Jews and Christians) . For the "People of Books" (Al-kitab) , Idris is known as Henokh. There are not many stories mentioning about Prophet Idris a.s. In fact , in Holy Al-Quran , there are only 4 verses mentioning him .

PROPHET IDRIS IN HOLY QURAN

There are 4 verses describing him in Quran :

"And tell ( o Muhammad ) the story of Idris mentioned in the Book ( Quran ) . Verily , he is the man who loves the truth and a Prophet , and We raised him to a high station . "

Surah Mary ( verse : 56-57 )

"And ( remember ) Isma'il ( Ishmael ) , Idris ( Enoch ) , and Dzulkifl ( Isaiah ) . All of them were from among the patient ones . And We admitted them to Our Mercy . Verily , they were off the righteous . "

Surah Al-Anbiya' ( verse : 85-86 )

PROPHET IDRIS IN HADITH

In a hadith , Idris is said among the earliest Prophets who speak to Prophet Muhammad in one of the heavenin Mi'raj .

From Abbas bin Malik , Rasulullah s.a.w. said : The gate is opened and when I go to the fourth heaven , I met Idris there . Gabriel said ( to me ) "This is Idris , give him your regard ." So , I gave
salam to him and he replied the salam and said " Welcome o my brother who is faithful and a righteous Prophet ."

SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF PROPHET IDRIS

Prophet Idris is the 6th heir of Adam , son of Yarid bin Mihla'iel bin Qinan bin Anusy bin Shiyth bin Adam . According to the tafseer of the Book , he lived about 1000 years after

Prophet Adam died .

Prophet Idris was given wisdom in various fields of knowledge and the ability to create things that can make the human's life easier . For example , alphabets and writing , mathematics, astronomy and etc. In a story when most people forgot Allah and Allah punished them with drought . Prophet Idris then demand to Allah to end the drought . Allah granted his demand and the drought end when the rain falls.

Prophet Idris is said to live in Egypt where he performed dakwah to strengthen the religion of Allah , taught Tawhid , and perform ibadah to Allah and also gave some guidances to his followers for a good life in the world and after life.

He is said in Quran as the chosen one and Allah raised him to the sky . Ibnu Abi Hatim in his tafseer said that Prophet Idris died in the fourth sky at the age of 82.

ADVICES FROM PROPHET IDRIS

1. Patience and faith to Allah ( will ) lead to victory

2. A man with happiness is the man that awares and demands the helps ( syafaat) from the God with his good deeds .

3. When you are demanding something from Allah , niat
sincerely . Do it the same when you perform ibadah and fast .

4. Don't make a false swear and don't covers the false swear so that you are preserved from the sin .

5. Be loyal to your kings and leaders and always be thankful to God and praise the Him.

6.
Don't be jealous to the ones who are lucky as they will not feel their luckiness for a long period .
