Just Beyond the Clouds

My skies are somber and gray.

There is no joy in my heaven today.

I am searching for the magic,

Cloudy skies, muted, monotonous;
days on end they come
like a parade of gray-suited aliens;
only, their familiarity

Fluffy balls of white cotton float across the blue sky

Carried by the wind, changing shapes as they fly

I watch them as
