Wow, that is a great idea. I never heard anyone consider giving a baby shower to a first time grandma. I think she would definitely feel appreciated and loved by her child. Grandmothers are very important in society. They are usually the caregivers of the children. A baby shower would be great. There are many gifts that would be appropriate for the shower.

First, the decorations would be in very pretty pastel colors. The idea is to make her feel as maternal as the mother who will give birth to the baby. Yellow, pink and blue will set the mood just right. A cake with her name on it will make her cry with joy. She should also have a chair that is decorated with lots of bows and ribbons. She should wear a dress to reflect the beautiful decorations at the shower. People in the family should get together and make her favorite dishes just the way she likes them. This special treatment will make her feel like a queen.

Gifts! What do you give a first time grandmother at her shower? She may decide to care for the baby so it might be a good idea to buy baby products for her as well as personal gifts for herself. Baby blankets, bottles, pampers, baby clothes and maybe a playpen or crib to stay at her house would be nice. Now for her, you would buy special bath oils and other sensual things to make her feel special. Nice lotion that is very soft to touch with a warm aroma to it will grant her relaxation. Grandmothers love beautiful night gowns and warm cozy slippers to match. Jewelry will also be rewarding to her and it will show how much you appreciate her as a mother. Gifts for her house will also be nice to give such as, towels, nice linen and maybe a set of dishes.

Grandmothers are special and they should be treated with a great deal of love and respect. A baby shower will definitely make them feel rewarded and needed. A first time grandmother have a lot to look forward to with the new baby coming. It is very easy to leave out the grandmother, of course not intentional but it can happen. If there is a way that you can make her feel like this is her baby as well, she will be very grateful. By including baby gifts in the shower will make the first time grandmother think that she will be a big part of the new baby's life. Think of it this way, with the current days that we live in, grandmothers have become the mothers and protectors of the children while the parents work.
