Ebay Giving Works-Donations to Charity Five Dollars at a Time-

It's difficult not to have a soft spot in your heart for needy people and their causes, but the collective need goes far beyond an individual's ability to help; so it's best to recognize you can't give money to every needy person or cause that crosses your path. Thank goodness there is eBay Giving Works to help generous givers sort through the charities and donate money, a little here, a little there, five dollars at a time.

Donate To A Worthy Cause Ma'am?- You know that tug at your heart, that urge to give to those less fortunate. You may be a sucker for worthy causes but it's difficult to tell who should get the little bit you have to share; so sometimes you give nothing at all.

NPR radio station affiliates, for example, seem always in the midst of a seasonal fund drive. Those fund drives used to be seven days of asking for money with no regular programming until they got what they wanted; but recently they switched to shorter drives, with only a few disruptions to favorite shows. They use guilt: 'if you listen, you should donate,' which often works at loosening up your purse strings.Or perhaps you feel pulled in the direction of one of numerous marathons where non profits ask runners to earn donations for their favorite charities by running or walking a designated distance and getting pledges for their efforts. Or does an annual cookie or dollar lollipop sale do it for you?

Panhandlers- Then, of course, there are the regulars who expect a handout whenever you pass them on the street, the panhandlers who surface from time to time. On every street corner. Outside the grocery store. "Donate to a worthy cause, ma'am," they whisper as you pass them on the way in. They have short attention spans, it seems, as they will often ask for money once again as you pass them on the way out, barring your exit in the process.

eBay Giving Works- eBay Giving Works charities are pre-screened. To be a part of the program an organization must certify their non profit credentials by submitting proper documentation, a picture of their logo and a canceled check from their business account. Some Giving Works charities sell their own products on eBay in personalized on line stores. All of the eBay charities are on a registry of charities to whom any eBay seller may pledge a percentage of an individual sale. It's a nearly painless way to share what you have or receive contributions if you are a non profit seeking funds.
