There were a lot of great wide receivers in the National Football League. The ones I liked the most were John Stallworth, Lynn Swann, Jerry Rice, and Chris Carter. These guys were very competitive. These guys loved to win, and hated to lose. I will tell you a little what these Gentlemen did their careers. You will see why I loved watching these guys play football. They made the sport fun to watch. I hope when I am done, you will like the story about the players I wrote about.
John Stallworth played his whole 13 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That is something we don't hear about anymore. We see lot of players move from team to team. There has not been any franchise player like John Stallworth. John Stallworth was a 4th overall pick in the N.F.L. in the 1974 draft. John was a 4 time Pro-Bowler, John helped the Steelers to win four Super Bowl Championships. In John's career, he has 537 receptions, 8,723 receiving yards, and 63 touchdowns catches. John waited 15 years to finally to be unducted into N.F.L. Hall of Fame in 2002.
Lynn Swann was another player who played his whole career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lynn Swann was the 21st pick overall in the N.F.L. draft in 1974. Lynn Swann played 8 seasons in the National Football League. In Lynn's career he was a 3 time Pro-Bowler, Lynn helped the Steelers to win four Super Bowl Championships. He made two great catches against the Cowboys in one of their Super Bowls just before halftime. Lynn's career stats was not that amazing, but he was one of the best receivers that played the game of football. In Lynn's career he has 336 receptions, 5,462 yards receiving, and 51 touchdown catches. Lynn was inducted into the N.F.L Hall of Fame in 2001 year before his teammate John Stallworth.
Jerry has to be the best wide receiver to ever play in the National Football League. Jerry holds almost all the records in every Category there is. Unlike Lynn and John, Jerry played on four teams in his career. I thought he will always be a 49'er, but in his career Jerry and the owner of the team and their differences. The other three teams that Jerry played on were the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, and the Denver Broncos. Jerry did play for the San Fransico 49'ers for 15 seasons. I think when he was with the 49ers that would be his best years. Jerry went to the Super once with the Oakland Raiders, but lost to the Tampa Bay Bucs. Jerry had an awesome career. Jerry played 20 seasons in the N.F.L. Jerry is a 13 time Pro-Bowler.
