When I was a child you showed me love,
Your touch was sweet and soft as a dove.
You put the goodness I have in me today,
For you, there never was any other way.
The comfort you gave, your loving embrace,
The sweet, beautiful sight of your face.
Oh, how I miss you each day,
I wish God hadn't taken you away.
You were my heart and my life.
Your passing cut like a knife!
Your beauty went down to the bone,
My God! How I wish you weren't gone!
When you left, you took a part of me,
The part you took, will never be free.
It sits in the darkness and waits for the day,
When I reach out and touch your hand, I pray.
The circle will be complete that day, again,
My granddaddy, my comforter,my friend.

I put my head
On him

Of my life
Then a fight
Pulled my pillow
Flung it out
Of the window
Love me,
I'm unrequited,
if there ever was such a thing
and if there ever will be a time,
when love pauses and hearts keep
