Poetry: Cats

by Betty Stone

Created on: March 22, 2009

Buster, Brandon, Chick, how I miss your soft touch.

God knows,I miss my cats so much.

I loved all of you with all my heart.

In my family, you were all a part.

The nights you slept soft by my head,

A trio of sweet felines, in my bed.

How much comfort and love you gave me

You gave so much, and all of it was free.

I gave you love and I'd hold you tight

When I felt so bad, you made things alright.

Your love was so precious, soft and warm,

God knows,I'd never do you harm.

But the day came when I had to go,

It was awful, but the worst was yet to show.

I left you all with a sick, twisted man.

Against all of you, he would raise his hand.

He put you to sleep, he let you die,

Now all I can do is sit here and cry.

Every night,I lay here and grieve,

But I know you're in heaven, this I believe.

One day,I'll see you all again,

Hear your sweet purrs and feel your soft fur on my hand.

God in heaven, He loves all creatures great and small,

I know He loves you, each one and all.
