Faithbooking is the process of putting your memories of your faith into a scrapbook format. It involves a process of reflecting upon one's faith, where you came from, what your hopes for the future entail, and how your life has been changed as a result of your decision to make a spiritual journey part of your life.
I am a Christian, and I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, so I will relate my faithbooking process from that perspective. However, no matter what spiritual journey you find yourself on, faithbooking would apply to them all.
Obviously, the first step to faithbooking would be to obtain a scrapbook, pages, page protectors, and a few basic supplies for adhering photographs and for decorating your pages. You can find these products at most box stores like WalMart and Target. Craft stores, such as Michaels and Hobby Lobby also have these products. If you are fortunate enough to live in a place that has a scrapbooking shop, these are great places to get supplies. Another way to get supplies is to find them online. Simply search "Scrapbooking Supplies", and up will come several sites carrying scrapbooking items. Check out your local Stampin' Up! Demonstrator or Creative Memories Consultant, and shop local! If you feel that you are not very creative, but would like to make an album anyway, try digital scrapbooking. With digital scrapbooking, the company that you choose to design your scrapbook through will have layouts and templates already designed for you. It's as simple as uploading your photos into their pre-designed album and adding some journaling to it. Digital Scrapbooking is quick and easy. Some online scrapbooking sites are: Creative Memories, Snapfish, and Shutterfly. These companies will print your pages for you, and it comes to you in the form of a coffee table book. These are great for sharing with others, as they are light and can easily be taken to any church social.
Once you've obtained your supplies for your faithbook, you will want to start gathering your photographs and your memorabilia. You will also want to start considering which memories you'd like to share in your book. Here are some things to consider putting into your faithbook:
1. Were your parents responsible for your choice in faith? Were you raised in a home that practiced your current faith? Did you accept your parents' choice of faith as your own, or did you disagree with them and find your own faith? Is your faith part of your family history? How many generations
