*Cynthia's Dream*
Night time closes in and Cynthia kneels down beside her bed and says her prayers. She climbs into her bed. Her mother covers Cynthia and then begins to read her a nightime, bed-time story before Cynthia begins to fall fast to sleep. Her mother sitting next to her gently kisses her cheek. It didn't taken Cynthia long to fall asleep. She fell asleep before the the story was over. Her mother closes the book and turns off the light, when Cynthia starts to dream.
Tucked tightly under flowered covers fast asleep, she dreams of a unicorn. Have you ever seen a horse or picture of a unicorn? A beauty of power and strength. This horse in Cyntia's dream is of great description. A white strong horse with a spear upon its face. The spear was the color of periwinkle blue. Periwinkle blue just happened to be Cynthia's favorite color. Periwinkle was special in another way. He had beautiful velvety white wings, feathered like those of a bird. There is one white wing on each side of him. They would wave opened and closed as he would soar gracefully amongst the sky.
While in a deep sleep, Cynthia drams of riding Periwinkle. She had never seen a horse of any sort up close. But, she knew that this horse was very special. She could see them soaring together through the white clouds and blue sky. She is holding on tightly to each wing while sitting on his back. They would be soaring fast and high.Cynthia's blonde hair blowing in the wind. She felt very safe with Periwinkle. Cynthia had loved this so much, soaring side to side and up and down felt wonderful to her. The soaring would make her tummy tickle and she could see herself laughing in her dream. One could see the smile on her face as she was dreaming in her deep sleep. It was a sweet pleasant look that could not be taken away from her face.
Cynthia's dream is slowly coming to and end. Soaring in circles one more time, Cynthia had held on to one wing at a time. Periwinke started lowering slowly to the ground. Holding on tight, Cynthia slowly sliding off his back, held on to one wing at a time. She makes a stand on the ground. As sad as it seems, Cynthia now has to say good-bye to
With tears running down her face, she kisses his nose and thanks him for the wonderful ride. Periwinkle snorts and shakes his hed as if to say good-bye back to Cynthia.
As Cynthia slowly awakes from her dream, she couldn't believe that it was only a dream. Her ride with Periwinkle had felt so real. OH, how she wanted it to be. Because Periwinkle had brought her so much joy, even if only in a dream. A smile on her face never to be replaced!
