Article title: Medical use of marijuana is all a question of politics.
Well since there wasn't, a question mark behind this article title, it read like a statement. O.K. Sounds interesting lets research into the statement. I always wondered how such a beautiful, green plant could have gotten such a rotten reputation. There are many sites, and books on this subject. All the articles researched, there was, in, every article, mention of one ambitious man, named Harry J. Anslinger, who started his own agency against everything, and everybody, and marijuana was at the top of his list. The articles stated mostly the same thing so I'm quoting from the "History of the Marijuana Wars". He said many un-loving words about many people of every nationality, linking them to marijuana. Even his own. unquote.
Our ancestors, founders and framers, left for us examples to follow. We must always remember to remember our ancestors. They opened State liquor stores, and gave the people what they wanted. They solved that question, and moved on with the next thing thrown at them. Our ancestors knew to reap the reward, and to impose the laws on the brewing, buying, and selling of this liquor, that the public was shooting each other, over who had what, and dying because of it. Our ancestors opened State liquid stores. During the liquid wars, some citizens sneaked around, made and sold liquor,(white lightning) , illegally, were called bootleggers, and runners. Our ancestors opened State, Government control liquor stores laws, and moved on with the laying out of our future.
They left for us to learn by their examples. Our government could sell marijuana at the public State stores. Perhaps they could call them The Common Denominator store. State owned, and under laws as govern by alcohol laws.etc. The public could buy and, it would have tax on it like the State liquors have, when first started. Since all things, our ancestors knew ,could be settled by a common denominator, we can try to honor, and remember this.
( Quote) This marijuana (hemp) plant has been around, and used for many uses, as far back as 7,000 B.C. It has a fabric making residue in it too. (unquote). Now that's a long time, and that's probably something that both sides would agree on. We can agree that if no-one wants to buy it, then no-one has too, just like liquor.
Why can't our government make money on this plant too, by regulating, like state and government control, just like our ancestors did about the liquor wars. Remember our ancestors! We are a nation that does that!
