Friendship

We talk about a friendship

That tears my heart in two

I promise not to act on

A feeling that is true

My mind it often tells me

To forget your smile or face

To save the pain and heartbreak

Caused by your embrace

And all the time I wish for love

Forbidden, though its true

And dream at night, a thousand dreams

That its returned by you

And always I'm awaken

by the same routine

alarm bells that I've vocalized

more than just a dream

and when I see you through the day

I pretend that I'm content

I listen to your tales of him

And start to feel resent

I try to be impartial

And feelings I oppress

Cause all I know is , you deserve

The best and nothing less

Again we bring up friendship

And I wonder what was said

I hear what you are saying

But what's inside your head?
