Women and marriage to an older man

I feel that in the time we are living in age is now more than ever only a number. It has become much more acceptable for a man to marry a woman who is older than him that it ever has been before whereas it has pretty much always been much more acceptable for a woman to marry an older man.

Women marrying older men goes way back into days when marriages were arranged and women couldn't chose for themselves and has since evolved. At least now the woman has the right to chose. I think that the main reason that it is considered socially acceptable for a woman to marry an older man comes mostly from how things were in the days when arranged marriages were the norm. I also feel that there are a number of reasons a woman should marry an man who is older than she.

My main reasoning being that it is statistically proven that women mature at a different rate than men do therefore to find someone who is at the same level as you, you would almost have to marry an older man. I feel that older men tend to have a better sense of who they are and where they want to go with their lives and a more realistic outlook than men who are closer to my own age. (Obviously this isn't true in every case.) Older men know more of what they want and what they expect out of life, they are more mature and in most cases more responsible. An older man is more likely to have at least part of their life comfortably established and there would be less of a period in which the man would find himself indecisive or incapable of making an important decision.

Older men are more respectful and generally better groomed than younger men also. Women love to talk, conversation is an important part of communication and men who are older are generally better at communicating than men who are younger. Younger men commonly find it necessary to try to compete or show themselves in ways that aren't really required. Men who are older and have a good sense of self generally are more confident than men who tend to be younger and slightly awkward. Also, older men and younger men have differing opinions on what is important in life, what are necessities, where they want to go with their lives, etc.

A man who is older is more likely to have a handle on his temper or attitude and can generally settle a dispute in a more mature, respectable manner than men who are younger and hot-headed. I, personally, feel that there are more benefits to being with an older man than there are to being with a younger man and the benefits outweigh negative aspects in almost every category.
