While delivering a speech to Amtrak last Friday, Joe Biden's propensity towards gaffes received more stimulation than our economy under Obama's administration. Before he took the stage, Biden commented to a former Senate colleague, "Gimme a bleeping' break!" Though the recording was quite enough to incite interest within the media, most of the headlines missed the point. Unknowingly, our vice-President voiced America's growing sentiment toward its growing government. Without the expletive and Biden's probable afterthought (D*n all hidden microphones!), Americans are urging their government: "Give us a break!"
The hypocrisy in Washington is astounding! Our own President rightly condemned the AIG bonuses but refused to refund their $100,000 contribution to his campaign. Taking into account the company's recent government bailout, ABC news begs the question: "Was any bailout money used to make political contributions?"
It's becoming increasingly clear that, as liberal politicians grow our government, they're rewarded with sizable commissions from brown-nosing businesses. Companies such as Countrywide, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac have returned the favor to Congressmen who claimed ignorance while ignoring their unethical business practices. (Note to CEO: The next time Barney Frank wants to scratch your back, give him a smack!)
Yet even more hypocritical is Mr. Obama's attempted procurement of twenty-three new presidential helicopters. And with a price tag of 11.2 billion, the media absurdly pitches the deal as a bargain. The elitist nature of this decision has caused many Americans to reevaluate their President. For while Congress continues to shower Obama with approval and means of luxurious transportation, a growing number hope for his unfortunate land on a heli-pad of quick sand.
Added to the media's pitiful list of accomplishments, is their distortion of perspective. Due to this indoctrination, the same people who believe that securing our border is too costly also believe that Sarah Palin is the White Witch of the West. The media will blur any fact which contradicts their agenda. For example:
-The cost of a two-walled impenetrable structure that surrounds both our north and south border, ends illegal immigration, and cuts our imported drug supply is 20 billion dollars. (Hey MSNBC, that equals only 41.07 helicopters. I knowKeith Olbermann can't count that high.)
-Sarah Palin placed second in the Miss Alaska pageant in 1984, while the beloved Hillary was told that a re-tailored man's suit would better fit her charming figure. So really, who's the ugly witch?
As national leaders continue to exploit their constituents, Americans are left feeling alone and without a voice. It's time that our country reverts back to the principles on which it was founded uponthe most important being a limited government!
The State was never meant to be above the individual. It doesn't exist to hamper a citizen's dreams or forfeit his future! It's time we take a stand and stop this sickening growth of government. I encourage you to go to http://newamericanteaparty.com/ and join this growing movement of American patriots whose soul purpose is to preserve that which is left of this great country!
