If one person has a negative attitude towards, everyone is the office can get affected. To stop this from happening, the boss has to fire the person who has negative attitude. Many employees who are at the top position in a company can get overconfident and have a really bad attitude. Remember, there are many more people out there who want your job, and they will get it if you show bad attitude.
Lack of knowledge/skills- You maybe have managed to get through University and get a degree, and you may have also managed to get a job through a friend, but this doesn't mean much if you cannot do the work properly. There are so many people who get jobs through connections, but they cannot do the work properly. They spend more time making connections than learning the work. If you lack the knowledge and don't have the skills for the job, your supervisor will find it out very fast. There are many people at the workplace that critique new employees, and if you do not have sufficient knowledge you will get fired.
Technological advancement- In a manufacturing company, workers may get fired because of advanced technology capable of making items ten times faster at a lower cost. You may have the skills and the knowledge to do the job properly, but if a machine can do it better than you, then the employer will not wait any longer and will fire you. To avoid this, make sure you also renew your knowledge and skills to get a job somewhere else and it helps if you have a college degree.
The business cycle Many jobs are lost during the recession, because the companies are downsizing and they don't have enough profits. Try to get a recession proof job such as a doctor or an accountant. There is a luck factor, because not all companies fail during the recession. You may also benefit from a recession and get a raise, but most people don't.
These are some of the reasons why people get fired. There is a luck factor involved, so don't be too hard on yourself if you do get fired. Make sure you have a positive attitude towards work, make friendly relationships at work, have the knowledge and experience to perform the job, and have unique skills, which are in high demand.
