Poetry: Words

by Jillian Cooper

Created on: March 21, 2009

Are you,

A women are man,

of you word.

Weighing the meaning,

of the word.

Before it flys'

from the mouth.

Just like,

the finest sword.

Which stings and slashes.

Cutting deep,

even through bone.

Their are words,

shaped by the

heart and mind.

Sharper then

this.

Cutting deeper,

into the human form.

Passing through that bone.

To the soul it seeks,

to lay hold.

To the mind it seeks,

to crush.

To the heart it seeks,

to break.

Growing like a

mold festering inside.

However, the use of a word,

applied correctly.

With fore-thought and love.

Can even mend,

the soul.

Allowing one's heart

to really forgive.

Giving clarity to one's mind.

Closing all the wounds.

It would be wise,

not to underestimate.

The power of the written word.

Nor the said word.

Even the unsaid word.

Wields more power,

then any weapon.
