Can every spoken word
be taken back and be undone?
Can I tip-toe across the room
and lay my beating heart
against your one?
Can I make myself invisible
to undo all that I have done?
Is in the realm of our future life
that all is forgiven and undone?

Have you forgotten

Excuse my tears
Drenching the paper,
It's just my fears
Gathering pain into vapor.
It's just a thought,

Some might say life has a way
of messing everything up
from the disenchanted delusions of success
to the promise of true love

Everything they'd fixed
From where they'd come
Until this new day.
