How much water should be consumed in a day

Water is one of the most important liquids that you should be consuming each day. The former adage of eight glasses of water a day may not be true, however. The amount of water each of us needs each day varies, depending on many factors.

We should be eating at least 25 grams of fiber a day. Well, we all should know that when eating lots of fiber, we must drink lots of water. Water allows us to digest fiber quicker, and also keeps food moving through our digestive system. Without water, all the fiber would become a thick paste in our intestines, causing constipation. This is something that new fiber eaters must learn.

Working out is a lifestyle that demands more water consumption. The more you sweat, the less hydrated you are. It is as simple as that. People who exercise each day should benefit from 7-8 glasses of water wach day. Being properly hydrated helps keep your electrolytes in check, and also regulates your body temperature and organ function. Serious dehydration is serious enough to land anyone in a hospital. Onh those very hot or sunny days, you must make sure to drink water as you are exercising; not only before or after. You do not want to risk heatstroke or fainting.

Foods such as fruits and vegetables have water already in them, and have even more water when washed in the sink before eating. People who want to be fully hydrated should eat these foods every day. These foods are also great sources of fiber, which helps to keep you regular. When eating high-sodium foods, drinking more water may seem like a given, but it does more than only quench thirst.

Generally, each time you eat a meal, you should be drinking water. Water allows all the toxins to be flushed out of your system. When you drink water, you allow your body to begin the digestion process in a much easier way. Even a small snack, like a handful of nuts, should be consumed with water. If you are eating protein, such as eggs and meat, you should benefit from more water consumption. Protein takes a long time to digest, which makes you feel fuller longer, but it still has a tendency to slow down digestion.

People who are taking antibiotics or other medications should drink more water, since many medications could lead to water retention, which in turn causes bloating and weight gain. Your body never needs to hold water as long as you are taking in alot of it.

Remember, it is never good to drink too much water either, since this could flush out your system too much. After awhile, most people know when they have a good balance.
