Top five movies of all time

"What is your favorite movie?" That's a question I'm sure you have all been asked at one point. Now, everyone has different opinions on what their favorite movie is, but some movies are liked by all in some way. Those movies may not be their favorite but in their top five. Movies like The Godfather and Casablanca are classics and there is no denying that. Instead of writing a top five that I'm sure you have all heard before, I'm going to list five movies that maybe well known to you, but not always on the top five lists you usually see. Hopefully, these are movies you like in some way, whether they are in your top five or not.

5. Toy Story (1995): Yeah, I said it. Toy Story. A lot of people may not have this on their top five, but I have to give my reasoning behind it. Most middle-aged and young people grow up going to the movies. Kids always want to see the kids movies and the parents go and take their kid to see this movie because it will make them happy, but how often do adults actually enjoy these films? A lot of times they aren't really interested in them, and in a way you could say why should they, the movie is for kids not adults. Toy Story is different because it was actually a good movie for adults as well. Its one of the best kids movies and adults love it as well. It was one of the first movies to revolutionize Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) with that and the voices of famous actors made this movie one of my top five favorite movies.

4. Titanic (1997): Great movie right here. I for usually hate love story type movies, but I loved it here. This was one of the few movies that had me tear up, with Awakenings starring Robert DeNiro being the main tear jerker in my life. Great drama, acting, cinematography, and story, this is a movie that could make any hater of love story type movies a lover of this one.

3. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971): Another movie that is one of the genres I typically hate, which is its part musical. It tells the story of a really poor boy who gets a chance to tour his favorite candy factory, along with a bunch of spoiled kids and a very interesting factory owner. Gene Wilder was very great in this movie; he was very funny as well. The movie had a great look, and is another one of those classic movies that kids and parents can enjoy, if you hate musicals or not.

2. The Shawshank Redemption (1994): It took me a minute to decide between this and Escape from Alcatraz, but the story and character development in this movie have Alcatraz beat by a mile. It almost had that feel as if everything wasn't going to be alright, but once the time came you felt almost as happy as the main character. With Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman starring in this, this movie can't be beat by any other prison drama type movie. I can watch it over and over again.

1. Pulp Fiction (1994): This is my favorite movie of all time. Quentin Tarantino made a great movie here. It's a movie that works very well with general conversation between people. It seems very real and not scripted. It's violent and funny at times, even without the violence, just watching the conversations between the characters make the movie great. The way the movie was made almost like little short stories that different characters go through and are all connected in some way, is another reason I love this movie. Also, it had a lot of good actors in it. With that, the story, the conversations, the characters and even the music chosen is what makes this my number one movie. I cannot watch it enough.
