Anyone who believes that God loves them,(John 16:27) that they have been commanded to love God,(Mark 12:30) and that God is coming to 'judge the world',(Acts 17:31) would not be asking a similar question.
Hell was made ready for the 'devil and his angels', not for man.(Matthew 25:41) God never intended for man to be thrown into a place of eternal punishment - instead to repent of his sins.(2 Peter 3:9) The Lord commanded us to 'Repent and live'; He does not enjoy watching anyone die.(Ezekiel 18:32) Why do 'stubborn hearts' refuse to repent?(Psalm 81:12)
Here is instruction for mankind from God: 'You must be born again.' This refers to spiritual rebirth, since a man has already been born in the flesh.(John 3:7) Through true faith and repentance - by the power of the Spirit of God - the true believer will receive eternal life.(Acts 20:21) This is the same power that 'raised the Lord from the dead'.(1 Corinthians 6:14) God did not create hell for man, but created man to offer praise to God forever.(Hebrews 13:15)
In many of the Psalms, man is commanded to 'praise the Lord'; several verses remind the redeemed that they will continually praise God. In fact, the entire creation was made to praise the Lord.(Psalm 148)
God did not create man in order to first find something wrong with him, then toss him aside into the flames of hell.(1 Thessalonians 5:9) But man in his free will chooses to sin against the Creator. If such morally unclean desires continue unrestrained, ultimately sin will lead to 'death'.(James 1:15) By practicing ungodliness against the authority of His precepts, wicked men deny Him - even those who 'claim to know God'.(Titus 1:16) By blatant sins and perverse sarcasm, they demonstrate how much they despise the authority of God.(2 Peter 2:10) Those who persist in their rejection will be condemned in the end.(John 12:48) Their fire will not be put out.(Isaiah 66:24) But they can be saved before the great day of judgment.(Jude 1:23) The 'blood of Jesus' can purify a man from 'all sin'.(1 John 1:7)
The Lord can deliver the redeemed from attacks of the kingdom of darkness, and carry them 'safely to his heavenly kingdom'.(2 Timothy 4:18) But for those who are caught in the enemy's scheme, there will be 'no rest', and their 'torment' will have no end.(Revelation 14:11) Jesus informed us that hell is a place where the 'fire never goes out'.(Mark 9:43) But God loves us, and sent His one and only Son to be afflicted, then sacrificed on the cross. So that all men could repent of their sinful lives and be saved from eternal punishment - then 'raised to life'.(Isaiah 53:4; John 3:16; Matthew 16:21)
