Does the Rule of the Majority compromise civil rights?

Where is the Outrage? The Few are telling the Many!

I believe that it is the majority that is having their rights compromised by the minority. The majority votes, and the minority get offended by the outcome of the election. I do not always like the way the vote turns out; I am an adult, and I have to accept it! Why can a small group of people tell the masses what to do? I am going to say "Merry Christmas" and not "Happy Holidays". A holiday is what you make it. Christmas can be a celebration of the birth of Christ, or it can be a time of giving, and sharing ,with no religious connotations. Christmas will only offend you if you let it. People have the right to celebrate our holidays, without having to change the name to satisfy a few members of society.

Now they want to rename St. Patrick's Day, and call if Shamrock Day. This is an Irish holiday that does have religious meaning to some, and to other a great day to drink green beer, party, and eat corn beef. We all celebrate "Cinco de Mayo" , is Mexican Independence Day. The people of Mexican heritage celebrate it, as we would our Fourth of July. I personally think it is a great day to go out for Margaritas and Nachos. If you do not like a holiday, don't celebrate it. When have we become so self-centered, that we are willing to take the freedom of choice from other people? The minority keeps trying to tell us, that they are offended by what the majority wants.

The American Flag is a symbol of the United States of America. Under God is how our country was founded. The "Ten Commandments", is a great guide to acceptable behavior. If more people would live by them, there would be fewer wars, less crime, and a more peaceful co-existence between people and countries. If you are offended by the American Flag, then you are offended by America. I personally think that the Ten Commandments should be outside every courtroom, in order to remind people that they are bound, by honor, and must tell the truth.

It seems that the minority wants to take our holidays, heritage, and our celebrations away from us. These are the people that are always yelling for their rights. We have rights too! We should honor all the soldiers that fought and died for our freedom. We believe that even the minority of people, who are trying to take are rights away from us, have the right to speak and to voice their opinion.

The minority should stop trying to rename our holiday! Mothers Day, and Fathers Day are good things. We should celebrate our
