Parenthood is by far, without question, the most difficult job any man or woman will encounter. For most of us, parenting is accompanied by long hours at the office, piles of bills on the counter, and an endless mess to clean. Think that's stress? Really? Imagine trying to create the right lifestyle for your child(ren) through a maze of strobe lights and screams created by overactive paparazzi, imagine taking the stress of long days, bills, and messes and adding on the feeling you need to please the world; the feeling that all eyes are on you no matter where you go to hide.

It is a JOKE to say that Britney Spears does not care for her children to the best of her ability. There are plenty of people who genuinely do harm their little ones day after day with methods far worse than anything that could be claimed against Ms. Spears. When we go grocery shopping we are given all the time we desire to read the labels on whatever we buy our kids, could you imagine a celebrity having that simple pleasure? Britney would be pummeled to the ground for an autograph before she even got a chance at grabbing a cart from out front.

The difficulty it must present is beyond the imagination of those of us living average lives. Media has a field day with Britney because she is a star, she is a role model, and she is an independant woman doing the best she can to live a life that is lived vicariously through the entire world around her. Her sons are alive and well, her sons are healthy, her sons are smiling, her sons are learning and growing like any loved young boys would be. Is there more you can ask for?

I think the problem is, our expectations have been raised to levels beyond reason for this superstar who has outshone all others. We expect her everyday life to maintain the same level of glamour and glitz, but in the real world, accidents happen, children are taken to the hospital, and life goes on.

Unless you have won an award for mother or father of the year, you aren't truly qualified to place judgement on another. Ms. Spears should be let to live her own life. When she's on your television or on a stage, that time is for your viewing, that time is for your entertainment, but when she is doing her best to care for her sons, that is her time.

I would bet, more time was spent by us average people parenting than watching 'E' entertainment TV, we wouldn't have a use for bad mouthing someone we don't know firsthand. Don't forget the words of your own parents about not judging a book by its cover. A parents love is golden, and we should stop trying to tarnish Ms. Spears as a mother.
