How to create a spa experience at home

There are many beauty secrets that can help you create a spa experience at home. These tips will help you to unwind by using bare essentials, and to create a comfort zone for relaxation. You will bring your body in harmony with your mind, and enjoy a soothing atmosphere at home.

To quench your parched skin, moisturize it and exfoliate to get the skin silky all over. If you spend a lot of time outside, it is also important to use a sunscreen. In addition, try to drink up to six glasses of water a day. This will ensure that your body is properly hydrated. Sauna refreshes your skin from head to toe. To get the same effect at home, use a scrub to exfoliate the skin while in the shower.

Make your skin super-smooth by buffing the body with a body brush. This will help remove rough dead cells, so that your skin will get better tone and texture. Use a purifying mud mask, which also helps to exfoliate the skin from dirt and impurities. If you have dark circles under the eyes, or swollen eyes, try applying a cucumber mask to the area. Chill a whole cucumber, chop it, and roll it up in a paper towel. Put the mask under the eye and hold for 15 minutes. This will prevent water retention and puffiness under the eyes.

In order to de-stress at the same time as having a bath or a spa treatment at home, try to imagine yourself in a relaxing place. Try not to think about problems or worries. Instead, visualize yourself at a lake or at another calm, peaceful place. Try to remember an especially pleasant event that happened to you in the past, where you are surrounded by close relatives and friends. This will help you to de-clutter your mind, and focus on cherishing the moment. Also, try inhaling and exhaling, and breathing deeply.

In the hot weather, apply chilled stones to the skin. On the other hand, when it is cold outside and you are in the mood for a foot bath, use heated stones to warm up your feet. To minimize muscle aches and to relax tired feet, soothe your body with a foot soak. Use hot stones that have been heated with pan water, and add them to warm water. Sit comfortably, and slide your feet in the basin. Be careful picking up the stones, always using tongs. The foot bath will soothe sore legs, and make you feel refreshed. These tips will help you create a spa experience without too much expense, so that you can relax any time of the day in the comfort of your own home.
