Poetry: Suicidal thoughts

by Donna Kroll

Created on: March 20, 2009

My Inner Fight

I feel so cold

Right to the bone

I am so frightened

I'm so alone

Darkness beckons

With tempting gain

No more sadness

No more pain

Family and friends

Show a ray of light

They are so aware

Of my inner fight

They hold me close

They won't let me leave

They hear me weep

They let me grieve

So with this help

I will remain

And maybe, someday,

I'll feel alive again.
