My Inner Fight
I feel so cold
Right to the bone
I am so frightened
I'm so alone
Darkness beckons
With tempting gain
No more sadness
No more pain
Family and friends
Show a ray of light
They are so aware
Of my inner fight
They hold me close
They won't let me leave
They hear me weep
They let me grieve
So with this help
I will remain
And maybe, someday,
I'll feel alive again.
