How to survive a zombie Apocalypse

save the local news (and national news) channels to your favorites list. You can be sure that when an outbreak occurs, someone will be "on scene" to reveal it to you live.

Safe zone

You will need to set up a base of operations. This is normally the place of residence. However, if you are lucky, a bank vault or a bunker would be better. If you have a storm cellar, then you are safe. The suggestion with each of these places is to have plenty of booby traps. Land mines are perfect for this. If you still have electricity then you can use motion sensors and cameras. However, if the power is out or you do not have access to the right equipment, there are other options. Knife utensils can be set up to fly into a target. Ropes can be used to snap the zombie off its feet until you can attend to it.

Vehicle

While not completely necessary, unless dealing with modern zombies, it is a good idea to get a vehicle. If you are lucky and have a military base nearby, raid it. Tanks are probably the best type of vehicle you can get your hands on. However, if there is no base near you, try to get your hands on several trucks. If you are lucky, you or another survivor, are good at vehicular modifications, or at least a welder.

Use a heavy-duty truck to place a snowplow on the front. You or your survivor companion can then weld pikes to the snow-blade. You might want to replace all the glass on the trucks with metal from other trucks, except for a narrow slit so that you can see the road. If you are one of those people who think ahead, you will probably have a vehicle already set up.

Another suggestion is to have a trailer that you can hook up to the truck when you need to go for supplies. This is also handy for when you find survivors.

Things to do

Always look for survivors when you go for supplies. You will be surprised at the abilities of children to hide. In addition, this is a good time to take out any stray zombies. If you make a practice of it, it might take months, but eventually you will clear your town of the undead.

In the end

There are basics that you can do to survive a zombie apocalypse. By stocking up on food, modifying vehicles, and being aware of the world around you, you increase your chances of survival. Just hope that you never run out of bullets.
