A Bit of Every Woman
Fabulously fashionable with a touch of meekness
Like Audrey Hepburn
Mixed with a flair of boldness similar
To Greta Garbo
What I wear does not wear me
I move gracefully in many things.
Sultry and sweet as the
Vocal finesse of Sarah Vaughn and
Minnie Ripperton
Laced with a pinch of deep, divine tones
Like Maya Angelo and Abby Lincoln
I speak high to low volumes to get my point across
Ensuring every ear hears me
When I dare to speak
I am every woman at any given time
But I am also one entity only
Like Bette Midler and Barbara Streisand
I can appear mighty in any role
But with a touch of genius no other could ever hold
My beauty is inward, all day, everyday
Guarding my outward stance that
Portray images of content, no matter how I feel inside
As lovable and unpredictable as Josephine Baker
I manage to mesmerize many in the excitement
Of just being
And in other arenas my feet are inbound by
the delicate twist of grace and poise
So smooth, powerful and refined, like that of Katherine Dunbar
And Dorothy Hamilton
For those who dare to stare
At the sensual deepness of my eyes
So hauntingly piercing as
Those of Betty Davis'
And Billie Holiday's
Crying inside for attention
That no one can hear
Yet I am only one entity
With a bit of every woman
Encased in all women
Yet I am only me.

Looking in the mirror
Not pleased with what I see
A face too round
Hips too wide
Hair where it shouldn't be
Moving throughout

My Flaws
I'm too thin; I'm too fat,
I could never wear that!
With my dark circled eyes
And my thick, flabby thighs
It is
"Doll"
A doll-
a mold of false identity,
this stereotypical entity
we all take for granted.
This doll-
replete with secrets, childish
by Rhonda M.
Imperfection
My thighs are fat
Shaped like a pear
Yet the best of me
Does not lie there
My tummy a bit chubby
Not flat
by Sarah Martin
Happy to be 'big'.
Ribs visible and a sixteen inch waist,
Her shapely body must have been misplaced.
This five stone delight
