TV show reviews: Survivor

to get wind of Brenden's alliance making efforts with the Jalapao and a coup is a-brewing. There is a plan forming, without Sierra's knowledge, to vote him out next.

At exile Island, Brenden attempts to solidify his four-way alliance by taking Stephen with him. This is the first time he has had a chance to get to know Stephen and win him over. Stephen reveals that he and Taj have found the hidden immunity idol. Although genial, Stephen remains skeptical of the offer of alliance and vows to keep that offer in the back of his mind, all the while coveting the idol that he and Taj found earlier, reminding us that he is wearing he idol and possession is 9/10ths of the law.

Finally, after aimless rambling from Spencer about the fact that he's gay and no one knows it, it's time for the immunity challenge. The concept is pretty simple; launch a hacky sack looking ball at your tribe mates with nets. Hopefully they will catch it more often than the other team. Sounds simple, right? Let the fun begin. J.T. emerges as the front runner and a force to be reckoned with. It looks from the second and third launches that Jalapao was an early favorite to win, but Timbira refused to be shut out. They quickly make up the three to one deficit. Then J.T. somehow loses a tooth, all the while scoring the fourth catch for Jalapao. Jeff actually stops the challenge and searches for the tooth J.T. discarded. Apparently neither he, nor anyone else on the show has spent any real time in the South, teeth are always optional. Timbira struggles, but manages to bring the score to a tie. Then in a lucky, almost accidental catch by Tyson, Timbira wins, much to the chagrin of J.T. They face another Tribal Council, and based on his poor performance it looks like Spencer is on the chopping block. At least he's not being singled out because he's gay.

Back at camp, Jalapao members were beginning to make their cases for the next Tribal victim. Taj went out on a limb and spoke her mind, which generally doesn't bode well with the other tribe mates and tends to put a very large target on the offending tribe member's back. Joe was a bit put out with he attitude toward him and had no problems voicing it. Stephen begins to weigh his options, trying in good faith to defend Taj on one hand, but thinking seriously about letting her go so that he could keep the idol for himself on the other. I think that Taj has put way to much stock in her alliance with Stephen which might be her ultimate downfall. J.T. is gunning for Spencer. There were a few terse words exchanged between the two of them while Spencer made his case to stay.

Tribal Council was the pot stirring/thought provoking event it usually is. Jeff, of course, showcased Taj's outburst at camp. She tried valiantly to deflect her rant to Joe, letting him know that it wasn't personal, but I don't think it was well received. Jeff continued to pound away at Taj's absenteeism due to being on Exile Island with Brendan, making her an even larger target than she already was.

The Vote: Taj did not give up the immunity idol. She told Joe point blank that she didn't have it, which wasn't entirely untrue, but if it ever came down to her having to use it, I think the untruth will haunt her. The vote was a run away for Spencer. My girl made it another round! I can't wait to see what happens next week!
