Poetry: Danger
The night I flirted with danger,
and took it to the edge.
I got this feeling inside my head,
no more of this it said.
A fever boiled inside of me,
that made me split myself.
And a high that I had never known,
drained what was left.
I walked and acted above the gravity,
I felt it tug at me.
But the urge to take it to the edge,
won out, you see!
Now that's the first time, and the last.
No more of this I say.
To flirt with danger, you will end up with,
someone, or something, you don't want anyway.

The Night Guard at the Women's Shelter
Exhausted but alert,
responsible for the undisturbed
rest of seventeen sleeping women,
I'm
Alcohol
Stop! Don't touch.
Many a man have succumbed
in her luring chamber
filled with beauties and niceties
that abounds in
Look both ways before crossing the road
Listen carefully for speeding cars
That are, as yet, un-seen
Never talk to strangers
Don't

Danger is a word
That can bring on quite a fright,
Danger is a state of mind
That tells you things aren’t right.
