Imaginary Immortality
The Peter Pan concept
of Forever staying young
any way you look at it
His story is far flung
The notions pretty good
But only so in dreams
If only it was true in life
Pipe-dream's all it seems
In this Scientific age
of Stem Cell Research
Can we Live Forever?
In a Bio-Chemical lurch?
Suspended in Time
Frozen in a Fridge
Waiting for a Cure-all
or immortality Bridge
The eternal youth one
You think will come to pass
Where you can be reborn
but its only just a farce
Meat can't stay in a Freezer
Any longer then it should
imagine the state of you
If you think that you could
Hope always springs Eternal
You can't change Natures way
You can't even argue with Her
She has the Final Say!

I mourn my immortal strength
with ruby tears
and sunlit woe,

As I stood in front of the morbid mirror
Again enduring doing the "cry"
To see how bereaved myself looked
