Throughout history, large, bold eyes have always been considered beautiful. Defining eyes and making them appear larger will compliment most faces, and it is inexpensive and easy!
For a more subtle daytime look, it may be suitable to use brown or grey eyeliner. However, this depends on the natural complexion of the women. If they have dark eyes and hair naturally, it may be suitable to wear black eyeliner during the day, without being to obvious. You may also wish to make a statement with bold black eyeliner, although this look is particularly suitable for night-time.
It is best to apply the inside lines with an eye pencil first. Line the inside of the top lid, just underneath the lashes, to make them appear thicker. To make the eyes look even bolder, then carefully line outside of the eyes with liquid eyeliner. If the line is too thick, you can wipe off the excess with makeup remover or a wet tissue. To define the bottom of the eyes, you could also dot eyeliner between the eyelashes.
If you're tired or simply wish to make the eyes look larger and more awake, apply white eyeliner on the inside of the bottom of the eye. You can also add white powder just under the bottom eyelashes. This will reflect light and give the illusion of wider, more awake eyes.
It is reccommended that you invest in quality eye pencils that don't smudge easily. Eyeliner shouldn't be shared with other people, in case of infection.
Different eye shapes may suit different shapes of eyeliner. While some people may have rounder eyes, some may have wider eyes. For rounder eyes, it is possible to "lengthen" your eyes when you apply eyeliner. Simply elongate the line of pencil or liquid eyeliner slightly beyond the end of the eye.
To make the eyelashes appear darker and thicker, apply mascara from the roots to the tips of the eyelashes. It may take several applications to achieve full volume, but if you use a quality mascara designed for length, you should not have this problem. There are many mascaras on the market, and you will have many options as to what kind of mascara you'd like. Some will make the lashes appear thickened, others will make them appear lengthened. For a fun, bright touch, you could even apply blue or pink mascara.
All mascaras should be waterproof. There are many cases in which your mascara will leak, for example in rain, if you choke on food and your eyes water, if you laugh and your eyes water, if you cry, if you have hay fever, and it is definitely worth the investment to not be dripping with black tear drops!
Now you've applied your mascara, you might choose to curl your eyelashes with an eye-lash curler for emphasis, or comb them to stop clumping. Then you may decide to apply eyeshadow. Make sure you apply some foundation powder before you apply the shadow for added staying power!
Happy Beautifying!
