Helium has grown to a wonderful site full of earning potential. However, just starting out can still be a frustrating experience. After all, how do you make money and what is the best option for building a nice income? In fact, I have had many new Helium members ask me how I reach payout! Well, if that is you, or you are just hoping for a bigger income then look no farther.

Write What You Know.

If you have done any reading on writing at all you have heard the phrase, "Write what you know!". Well, it is true that this is the best place to start. This will allow you to write quality articles that are well organized without the time and effort that go into research. Writing can be a lot of work and starting with topics you know will make a huge difference.

I have had a lot of people tell me that they don't know a whole lot. However, this isn't true. Whether you are 18 or 81 you have a ton of knowledge inside of you just waiting to come out. Look for articles in categories that you like learning in. Use your hobbies, your work, past job experiences, relationship experiences, and interests to draw knowledge from. Here on Helium it is easy to find titles to write for. Go to the "write" tab and click on "Title finder". Here you can enter search terms in areas that you know a lot about and then choose as many titles that you can write on as possible.

Write Your Best.

Okay. So it may sound dumb to say write your best. After all, who sets out to write their worst? However, giving each article your all, taking the time to read through it before publishing, fixing typos and spelling errors, and making sure that it has a good flow and is logical are all good steps to writing your best. It is true that it is faster to just type out an article and push publish. However, with Helium's rating system the articles that will make the most are those toward the top of a specific title. You want to be in the top three or so. This will allow you to make money from your article because more people will read it. It doesn't mean that lower ranked titles won't make you any money, it just means that the articles that make the most will be the ones that are rated higher. Take your time, be willing to edit, and you may see your articles do better in ratings and on your earnings page.

Work Toward Your Stars.

In recent times the writing and rating stars have become even more important then in the past. It is important that you work toward your stars so that you can get upfront payments. One writing
