Walking vs. running for fitness

I have just read through most of the articles posted with the topic of Walking vs. Running. My question to you all is; are you delusional? This is not even a good discussion point. There is with out doubt no comparison between the two. Running far exceeds walking as a form of exercise in every measurable way.

Unless you have been sedentary for an extended period of years, have a medical condition or are recovering from an illness or injury the benefits of running are significantly higher than walking.

Yes, it is harder, because it is a more difficult exercise.

Yes, you will get tired and sweaty because you are exercising.

I have been running 5-6 days a week for thirty years and do not have any the often mentioned joint problems. Nor do my peers. If you are a recreational runner and are not doing 75 - 100 miles per week you won't have those problems either.

Stop making excuses, stop pretending you are working out and actually do it. Take the hard road. You will like where it leads and after three weeks will be glad you challenged yourself instead of continuing to validate your excuses.
