Title: Art Class.
Canvas white and seven colors
Palette new and virgin brush
Choices limitless, yet others
Languish at the thought of such.
Fears reject fresh thought, unique
While phantom worries fill the room
Model frozen, as I seek
Inspiration in this tomb.
Suddenly I see the window
Framing images unplanned
Still the feeling at my easel
Make thoughts of results seem as canned.
Till wonder overtakes and brings
Perspective to my starving mind
While sense and measure lay the rules
Erasing all I seek to find.
If creativity and freedom
Could be ordered as designed
By anyone outside the matter
Teeming in my troubled mind.
Till suddenly my focus shifts
To breezes toying with such life
This random, yet ideally planted
World with guide of higher sight.
Now the model less inspired
By payment for the hour of toil
Has nothing on the images
I see planted out in the soil.
Inspiration finds a home
When boundaries fall to the floor
And freedom to express has come
When me, and you, walk out the door.
