Personal power is the key to living your life to the fullest with no regrets.
There are two ways of looking at personal power. One, is the way that most of us are taught. In this, we have learned of The Secret, The Law of Attraction, and Creative Visualization. Through these personal power techniques, we are all pretty much guaranteed a life of happiness, abundance, love and success. For many of us, we jumped on board, stating self affirmations to ourselves, our writing down little notes and reminders stating what we wanted to change, to remind ourselves on a daily basis.
As stated, your own personal power can be created by any greater source. This can be God, Mantra, Judais, Jesus, Mother Mary, angels, spirit guides or the Source Energy. Whatever your terminology is, the fact remains the same, that we each have the power within ourselves to make positive changes in our lives.
While all of these theories sounded great to me, I couldn't understand how they would possibly work. Growing up, I was raised in a non-denominational home. My father had been raised as a Mennonite, and virtually turned away from the religion, as soon as he turned sixteen and was able to make the choice. This was great for my sister and myself, as we weren't pushed into any religion, nor were we made to attend church services that dictated how we were to live our lives. Although my sister didn't pursue religion in any sort of way, I found myself reading the Bible, and attending different churches to find one that made sense to me.
Yes, I can say, I was a bit of a skeptic when it came down to religion, or the Power within us. I have always needed to find the answers that described my beliefs so precisely that there were no questions.
So of course, when the Secret came out, I had my own questions for that as well. How do you become positive was one of the biggest ones. In my life, I had never met anyone who was totally positive, all of the time. Sure, I had had moments where I felt as though I could take the world but then there were also those moemnts in which I felt very small and very useless. This didn't help with getting me to think positively to attract all great things.
When I became a Certified Life Coach, and later a hypnotherapist, I finally found the answers that I had been looking for. What made the Secret, and Creative Visualization work so well? It was the power of our own minds, and how our own mind works, without us even realizing it. What I am talking about is our subconscious
