It is not a good idea to constantly push your child in to being a success. A more appropriate way of giving your children the opportunity to succeed, is by giving them a guiding hand, and supporting them in their life endeavours. The more you push your children into doing something, the less they will want to do it. Success and being successful starts in early childhood, parents are a children's first teacher and learning begins in the home.
There are many forms of encouragement which you can show your children in their road to a successful life. Being there for them, supporting them in their choice of activity, and giving them praise when they succeed in various tasks, will give your child the advantage they need to be a success. Children naturally ask a lot of questions, this is how they learn, they also use their imagination and creativity to go forward in their efforts to achieve success. Playing can be fun, but you can also find some educational games that will help your children learn while also having fun. There is also the physical aspect of playing outdoor sports with your child, a child can learn that being fit and healthy is good.
There are also activities you can do with your children that will expand their mind. Taking a simple walk with your children can be healthy as well as educational too. Give your child the knowledge they need to be successful in whatever they are doing at a particular point in time. Make your walk into a time where your child can learn about different types of trees and animals. Learning and gathering information from as early an age as possible will give your children the ability to be independent and also well educated.
Never push your children into something they don't want to do, even if you think dancing lessons or karate is a good idea, your child may not think that it it such a good idea. They may go along with what you suggest, but if they dislike what they are doing there is more a chance of failure, due to your children not being interested in that particular field. Talk to your child, find out what they like, children love to talk, make them feel like what they say is important to you, and if you can, go along with what they tell you they would like to do, or learn about.
Starting school is a big step in the learning department, and a huge step in the way of how your children will succeed in life. An education is most important to your children, understanding and helping your child through the school years will have a great effect on their future development. Not only can they learn at school, but you can also teach them at home too. Teaching at home can be as simple as letting them help with chores and giving the children tasks to do, even if it's just once a week. Cooking if the child it at an appropriate age can be very beneficial, your child will be happy to help if you try out some fun new ways to do certain tasks around the home.
How far should you push your children to succeed? The answer is not to push, but to give a gentle guiding hand, encouragement, praise, and all the knowledge they need to be a success. Remember, to be a success in life takes hard work and competence, making someone a success takes patience and encouragement. Try not to push too far, as letting your child have the independance to make their own choices in life can be a big part in succesful development of your child.
