Millions of things can actually slow down your computer. Let me give you the example of a full hard disk. The more files you keep inside the hard disk, the slower your computer will be because it has to deal with more files and with a lot more GB than it should. When you start to save some files to your hard disk you will probably not feel anything different, but one you start to save thousands of files and several hundreds of GB you can be sure bad things will happen. The computer will become slower and will make more mistakes.

Windows by itself will write a lot of files and will make the temp folder increase it's size up to 100 GB and up to one billion files if you do not take care of it. Windows just keeps adding more files to it until the disk cannot actually take anymore. To prevent this from happening make sure you run CCleaner once every week to keep your computer always clean all the time all the ways you can possibly imagine. This program is free and probably one of the best ones you will ever install on your machine.

The next thing that will slow your computer down is the fragmentation of the files in the hard disk. This is because of the way the computer works. There is nothing you can do to prevent it, however you can cure it! You just need to run Windows default defragmentation too and then check the results. The computer response speed will be many times faster than it was just some minutes ago. It works with me all the time I can assure you.

Then we have Internet Explorer. THis thing is like a big bomb of clutter to your computer. It leaves traces everywhere, it leaves files everywhere, it leaves junk everywhere, litter everywhere! You need to use a great program to clean this thing or maybe not even use Internet Explorer at all! Firefox is many times better in all the ways than Internet Explorer is. Run CCleaner to clean Internet Explorer.

Some indexing tools will slow down your computer. Google Desktop, Windows Vista index, Copernic Search and other tools like this will slow your computer down even when you work, so you can use Tune Up Utilities to stop all these programs at once and stop the computer from becoming slow thanks to these programs. I am sure you will feel the difference.

At last we have the problem is the software you uninstalled but laves files on the computer. Delete them directly in the Programs folder after you remove them.
