The only thing you will ever truly experience is this moment. You may "remember" yesterday, or "visualize" tomorrow. But "this moment" is where you are, and the only place you will actually ever do anything. The only place you will ever have any impact on anything. This moment is the only place you can make any changes to your life which might bring you more happiness and abundance.
We miss the opportunity, moment by moment, to make any positive changes because our auto-pilot is running which robs us of the world around us and that's just why it's there! We run on auto-pilot because there are so many things in our life we don't want to necessarily even experience. Maybe we dislike a part of our job, or maybe we dislike all of our job, and we don't really want to be there which keeps us out of that moment. In this instance, our obliviousness to the now works very well, but it continues to block our ability to do anything about our situation.
There is a reason to actually experiencing every moment in your life. The bonus of the blissful feeling which comes from the act of being present. When you are truly aware and present in this moment you are incapable of thinking about the past or the future and it's these thoughts of our past pains and our future panics that bring pain and suffering.
Here are a few ideas which may help you to recognize opportunities to catch this moment;
In order to fully understand the impact of this moment, you must recognize that this is it this eternal now is a fact. This understanding will allow you to be more aware of your surroundings and your life in a real and intense way and you will have the option and ability to bring more joy into your life, into your now.
Use your five senses. It is almost impossible to fully use one of your five senses and not be present within the experience. Try little exercises to see if this is true. Right smack dab in the middle of a stressful situation, stop for a moment, take a breath or two, and recognize your senses. Feel your hands touch something, smell a flower, listen to the sounds around you, anything to recognize any one of your senses. At that moment, when you become present, maybe just for an instant or maybe for an extended period of time, your stress will be gone. Where did it go? It could not exist because you could not think about the past or the future and you were experiencing your now.
Feel the energy in your body. Take a moment. Breathe. Who is breathing? Did you tell yourself to breathe? Feel the energy within you. This energy has been described in many ways for thousands of years and there is no further understanding necessary in order to experience what is. It is an energy, that breaths on it's own, and you are experiencing it. You and only you. This is your breath and your energy. This is an exercise that you can take as far as you like. But be prepared for the possible bliss that can come from the recognition of an energy within you which is operating on a level far beyond your conscious mind's ability to comprehend.
Try these simple steps and you may be surprised at the ability you have to bring more peace into your life... right now...
