People are taking less personal responsibility for themselves today?

Blame It On Someone Else! It's Not My Fault!

Do you believe that personal responsibility a thing of the past? We can accept the new mantra adopted by so many people, and just shift our responsibilities to someone else and play the "Blame Game". It is much easier to blame someone else, rather than to take the responsibility for our own mistakes. It is not fair that someone else should pay for our mistakes, after all we are the one that made them! It is bad enough paying for our own mistakes without having to pay for the mistakes of others.

We should take personal responsibility for the mistakes that we have made and not keep trying to avoid taking the blame. If you make a mistake fess up to it, apologize and do what you can do to rectify what you have done. We all make mistakes and it is how we handle them that really counts. Some mistakes cannot be fixed and all we can do is to apologize, learn from them and move forward.

We hear students saying that they blame their school or their teachers for their poor grades. Then they go home and tell their parents and then their parents enable them by agreeing that it could not possibly be their sons or daughters fault. What happened to "If at first you don't succeed; try, try again"? We are supposed to support, encourage and show our children how to do things better. We are not supposed to make excuses and agree with their bad behavior!

We should learn from our mistakes and try to turn them into something positive. If people spent half the time trying harder instead of making excuses, they would not have to blame anything or anyone. Blame is a negative action or emotion! It gets us nowhere except into a position to blame something or someone else for our failure. We need to take responsibility for our choices and our mistakes. We are the one that has to live with the choices that we make. If we aren't good enough at what we do; we should work harder and quit whining and blaming everyone else for our failure. We must also face the reality that we cannot always win; we should never miss an opportunity to try!

Remember, as someone once said:that "failure comes in two classes; there are the people that tried, did their best and failed, and then there are those who failed by not trying at all". Most of us would rather fail after trying to do our best and know that we have no one to blame except ourselves. Not trying is not an option! We may not always win: how we love playing the game!
