It's So Clear
Something inside me
Has broken I fear
I feel that it's shattered
To me, it's so clear
That trust is now gone
Never to return
For once that is broken
Once it's been spurned
It can't be rebuilt
It can't be reborn
All the misdeeds
Are no longer ignored
All of the times
That I forgave
Made not a difference
It couldn't save
Once belief is gone
Once trust has left
All the excuses
All the reasons so deft
Are no longer enough
They only mean naught
They can't make up for
Not doing what you ought
For you won't own up
To mistakes that you make
All the untruths told
The omissions that awake
The suspicions of others
The hurts caused by you
Responsibility not taken
Apologies that are due
So something inside me
Has broken, I fear
Trust in you is now gone
To me, it's so clear.

A tangled web of deception
You wove knowing full well
The pain these lies would cause
When eventually the truth did tell
