We are all fated to die because of Adam’s willful act of disobedience.
God's word clearly says. “Every person will face death and then comes the judgement.” (Hebrews 9:27) and, “There is an occasion for everything and a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2). Adam and Eve’s longing for self-rule not only led them into Sin but destroyed their own relationship and severed the fellowship they had with God. As a consequence of their actions, the interloper DEATH entered into the world bringing decay, destruction and disharmony. As well, as a result of Man’s PRIDE-ful act of disobedience, LIFE not only had a beginning but now also an END. In the same fashion, we are no different then our original parents who chose to mistrust God’s motives and disobey His commandments. So when we like Adam choose self-will over God’s will and refuse to listen to His voice and trust in His ways then death also becomes our destiny and our fate. The LORD God commanded the man, saying, “ You may eat freely of every tree from the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Do not eat the fruit of this tree for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)
PRIDE ruling supreme caused man to hate being beholden to anyone, man or God, or to have to obey the will or rule of another. By the way we live our lives, it appears we do NOT believe in consequences for our actions or that we should be held accountable for our actions when caught. All too frequently the choices we make result in sinful acts and a failure to keep God’s spiritual laws. Death is the ultimate penalty or payment required for our Godless behaviour. Death is also the great equalizer since ALL will stand before God and give an accounting to Him for every thought, word and deed.
However, after saying death is our destiny and our fate, let us not lose all hope. For God’s love for his creation is so great that he has provided each and every person a way to overcome the finality of death. Clearly, the LOVE of God defeated DEATH through Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross. This fact, is not only evidenced in history but also becomes a reality in the life of every person who ‘will-ingly’ believes God’s Word. Christ paid this penalty for SIN when he chose to suffer and die on the cross and in fact the truth is
