My Friend

Words can't express what a friendship can mean

You were so unexpected and so unforeseen

A commitment of souls, a life of forgiveness

My smiles and tears, you will be there to witness

I can count on your strength when I am not strong

You will make me feel right at times when I'm wrong

Your eyes are my ground and your arms are my home

Having you in my life, I will not walk alone

I can count on your trust and your honest advice

To keep you near me, I would pay any price

For there aren't any words to express what I feel

Having your arms to go to, makes my life seem surreal

The ground that I walk, never felt so safe

Since the moment I turned and saw your face

You were there for the smiles and the times that I fell

Having you to turn to, I never have doubt

The guidance and love you have given to me

Has brought me to where I have dreamed I would be

Having you in my life I don't have to pretend

You are my love, my life, my cherished friend
