Being a writer it can sometimes be hard to find a place where it's easy to fit in. However with the website known as Helium, it's fairly easy for writers from every level of experience to share their knowledge and join in on the fun. The good news is, that isn't the only benefit of writing for Helium.

There are a number of ways that a writer or even someone that enjoys reading can benefit from Helium. They can range from earning money to making friends from around the world, or even making that big break into the journalism industry that you've always dreamed could never happen.

Making Money

One of the biggest benefits of writing for Helium is obviously the ability to make some extremely good money. There are currently around four ways of making money on Helium, such as upfront payments, contests, journalism awards, and article revenue. As it turns out article revenue is the easiest way to make money, but it isn't the quickest.

Every writer on Helium knows you need $25 in your account at the end of the month to receive a payment. So the revenue gained by articles doesn't amount to much at first, but when you've written hundreds of articles you may see the dollars coming your way. Upfront payments can be a pain, but writers at Helium can make some serious cash using this new way of making money for the members of the site.

The way that writers at Helium make money from Upfront Payments is by writing in eligible channels, and based on the number of stars they have, that writer makes a different set amount of money for each article. If an article hasn't been written on a subject so far, writers can gain an automatic extra dollar just by writing for empty titles.

Contests are another way of making money at Helium and are typically a lot more challenging because it makes writers triple check their work before submitting only to be compared to articles from other writers. The winner usually wins a good amount of money, and the same rules apply for the journalism awards contests, but the main contests are much more complex.

Networking

Another big benefit of Helium is the fact that networking can be easy after joining an online community like Helium. This is because everyone on the website is very friendly, and at times people from publishers can come by the website and select articles or recruit writers for their particular needs.

Practice

For some writing at Helium can be a much-needed practice run for their future writing career. Writing is sort of a hobby that can become better over time for some people, so writing at Helium can be a huge help in that area. Writers learn to check for mistakes, and learn new ways of formatting to impress readers.
