Memoirs: Betrayed by my best friend

There is nothing worse than being used by someone who claims to be your friend. This particular friend I am writing about has done everything in her power to manipulate my husband and I into giving into her demands. She would never come to me and ask for anything, she would always go to my husband and ask him. She always asked him to babysit her kids and he would naturally accept her wish. I would be the one stuck watching those kids, whether or not I had to be at work or I was off. If I had to be at work, then I would have to call in sick. My husband would never watch her kids. He could never be bothered to watch them, claiming he had more important things to do. This friend that asks my husband for us to watch her kids, would be out all night and then sleep all day the next day, leaving her kids with us for the entire next day. She claimed that she just got so drunk that she didn't think she could pick up her kids in that condition and she lived in the next apartment. One day, I was outside and her blinds were open and I got a glance inside her bedroom and she was not sleeping it off. She was with a man, if you know what I mean. I marched to her door and banged on it. She came running to answer it and I told her that I was bringing her kids over. Then I went to my apartment, grabbed her kids, and took them back to her place. She was so mad that she went to my husband and told him what I did. My husband was mad and confronted me and told me I had no right to do what I did. He told me to apologize to her and I told him to go to hell. She got mad and banned me from her apartment. The funny thing is that whenever we asked her to watch our son, she claimed that she was busy and couldn't do it.

This particular friend also manipulated us by always asking us for money. She managed to get my husband to tell her exactly when we got our paychecks and everytime we got our paychecks, she was right there asking for money for "her kids", claiming that she need money for milk and cereal. We fell for her scam and gave her the money and she turned around spent it on booze and cigarettes for some party she was having, a party that we weren't ever invited to. Whenever we asked her to pay us back, she claimed that she had no idea what we were talking about and never even bothered to pay us back. But whenever we asked her for a little help with money, she always said that she didn't have it to give. The few times that she did give us money, she was right there when we got our paychecks demanding the money she gave us. This particular friend probably owes us about $500 that we will never get from her.

She is also telling my husband that we need to visit her for the weekend. We went like two times and we always ended up in some fight because I never gave into her demands. One situation was because she asked my husband if we would take her son for a week. I was admantly opposed to it and told her we wouldn't do it. She got mad and told my husband that he needed to be a man and put me in my place. My husband and left mad and had a huge spat over it. All because I wouldn't give a reason why I didn't want to take her son for the week. I felt that I didn't have to give a reason, that no was all she needed to hear. She wrote my husband messages on myspace the next week telling him that he was wrong and should have been man enough to make that decision for the two of us without me being the one who wears the pants. I think that she was mad because she couldn't deal with her son and wanted someone take care of him for awhile and when I wouldn't agree to it, she got mad.

This some of the reasons why I have felt betrayed by this particular friend.
